Review and DIY - Fantastic Ribbons*

If like me you like to craft, you should know that you can never have enough buttons and ribbon. The amount of craft projects you can do with two simple things is pretty amazing, anything from card making, jewelery and most commonly for me I use buttons and ribbon on my plush creations, the list is endless! These buttons and ribbon are from Fantastic Ribbons, a online shop specialising in ribbon, focusing on ribbon on the reel, there is a wide range of ribbons available to choose from. The gingham ribbon in aqua is just beautiful, as soon as I saw it I had a few ideas for what I could use it for, gingham is a timeless classic. Being a pastel lover I also chose a bag of buttons, I was really impressed with these due to the variety, there are large buttons, small buttons, heart and flower shaped buttons, buttons with different textures and patterns and of course lots of different colours!  Below is a quick and easy DIY for a binder/bookmark! It took me less that ten minutes to make!

You will need - ribbon, button, scissors, a hair band, needle and thread (or glue/sewing machine depending on your preferred method)

Cut your ribbon to desired length, now this depends on what you plan on using it for, I made a small one at 15 cm. For a medium sized book I would recommended cutting it to around 17inches with the final project being 15inches in size.
Loop the elasticated band around the end of the ribbon and stitch together, if you are using ribbon that frays you might want to fold it in half again.
Next stitch on your chosen button securely to the other end of your ribbon.
I made mine to wrap around some loose stickers and pieces of paper, it's simple but I love the way it looks.
But you can also use it as a bookmark (of course mine was slightly too small but I wanted to show you an example.)  If you have any ideas for other ways to use this project let me know!
